Wind Rivers Cirque of the Towers Retreat

Join us on the second annual ASDT Wind Rivers Retreat! We will be backpacking 4 days and 3 nights with an awesome group of women to the majestic and rugged Cirque of the Towers in the Wind River Range outside of Pinedale, Wyoming.

"The ASDT retreat was one of the most empowering, eye opening, and simply fun experiences I've ever had! This trip was my first experience backpacking and I couldn't have asked for a more well planned, well organized, encouraging experience. Not only did I feel prepared for what we endured, I was surrounded by the most wonderful, interesting, awesomely RAD people! Each of us had so much to offer, creating an amazing dynamic for the entire trip and friendships that I hold near and dear to my heart. I pushed myself harder than I thought I would and my body overcame challenges I never thought it could! I talk about this trip to everyone and anyone that will listen and recommend it for any woman who is looking to challenge themselves and meet amazing, inspiring people along the way!! "

There’s nothing closer to honest worthwhile therapy than being outside in the wilds of our beautiful world. Allowing ourselves to push our limits mentally, physically and even spiritually can create a life-changing experience for all of us. We find this especially true when done with other women who are equally hungry for similar challenges in the outdoors. Giving ourselves the actual time and focus to strengthen our entire self, can sometimes be the very difference we've been looking for!

"A little while before the Wind Rivers ASDT retreat was announced, I woke up one morning and realized I wasn't quite sure who I was outside of being a mother. I felt stuck. So, I decided I was going to fix that. Then I saw the retreat pop up, I told my husband I was going (never having backpacked before) and bought my ticket. It actually wasn't that easy to make the decision to go...by myself, leaving my four little's, no way to communicate with them while I was away, put my work on hold, and walk into bear country with a 50 lb pack on? It was a bit scary, but something was calling me to do it. I can't even express to you in words how much I needed it. I learned a TON from Amy and Jenn and the others that had backpacked before...Amy did an incredible job teaching us how to cook delicious meals in the mountains and in guiding us on our adventure. It was such an intimate/encouraging group of woman and I feel so lucky to have been able to share the experience with them. There were times that really challenged me, but I truly enjoyed the effort it took to get to our destinations. The views, the smells, the struggle, the laughter, the wild--it was all good for the soul. I walked out of the retreat as a better person. Now, I'm craving and planning more backpacking trips and adventures!
Thank you ASDT!

Our ASDT Ambassadorship has teamed up with a number of experienced outfitters and guides to create these unforgettable excursions created for women, by women. These one of a kind retreats have room for up to 12 ladies, and have been created to take our participants to much more remote locations. We encourage all skill levels to attend...so give yourself a trip that will push you, teach you, and leave you aching for more!

Each retreat is customized according to the specific excursion being attended. All participants will be in direct contact with the ambassador/guide a good time in advance, and will be given every bit of information before departure on their retreat.

"The Wind Rivers backpacking retreat offered a truly unique and empowering experience far beyond any other backpacking trip I've participated in.  Our guide, Amy, was absolutely amazing and not only ensured we had an unforgettable experience but also gave us the tools to be self sufficient on future backpacking trips and outdoor adventures in the back country.
The scenery was absolutely breathtaking but  far and away the best part of the trip was getting to know my fellow participants.  Even though we didn't know each other we shared an immediate connection and bond which only strengthened as we added miles onto our trip.  We all came from different locations and different backgrounds but we all shared a love for nature and a deep respect for the other women on the trip.  I loved our bonding moments as we trekked through some of the most picturesque landscape you could imagine and prepped camp and meals during our downtime.  Each woman on the trip had a lifetime of knowledge, adversity, trials and triumphs that brought us together and created lifelong friendships and memories.  We lost ourselves in nature only to find ourselves once again through our bonds with each other."
